Filipa T.
Education and Early Career
Shaped between Lisbon, ISCTE, her former partnership at Atelier 106, and her work at the interior design studio L’Éléphant, Filipa has built a path moulded by the relationships that connect her to each new challenge.
Professional Experience
Filipa is a multidisciplinary architect and designer, founder of her own architecture studio — Filipa Taborda – Architecture and Design — established in 2022.
Previously, she co-led Atelier 106 and later joined the interior design studio L’Éléphant, where she developed various rehabilitation and new construction projects, covering residential programmes, buildings, and public spaces.
In product design, she collaborated with the furniture brand Heme Furniture, for which she designed her first collection.
She also founded Maison Bloom, a company dedicated to floral design, event design, art direction, and interiors, where she creates signature pieces and manages graphic and communication components.
Philosophy and Approach
From architectural thinking to the drawing of each detail, Filipa embarks on a journey that alternates between forms, textures, atmospheres, and light — until a space is conceived.
Exploring the dialogue between positive and negative space, she finds her ultimate vision in people — how their presence influences and is influenced by their surroundings. She connects every moment to detail: texture to colour, light to shadow, emptiness to volume — crafting a dialogue that moves visual realities between mass and void.
A house, new or renewed. An office, a restaurant, or a place where memories are shared and future ones are built. Filipa creates a form for you — one that transforms into your own, inside and out.
Pleasure and Passions
Beyond architecture, writing is another of her passions. Filipa writes poetry and essays on architecture and design, having published the poetry collection Uma sombra a dançar (“A Dancing Shadow”) and contributed to the online magazine Rua de Baixo.
As an architect and designer, she brings to her writing a strong visual and spatial sensitivity.
