Renovation with passion and innovate with vision

An architect specialized in the fields of Renovation, Restoration, and Recovery of Architectural Heritage, Mariana Morgado Pedroso began her career alongside architect Manuel Salgado. Between 2004 and 2008, she participated in numerous urban design projects.

Later, from 2008 to 2012, she worked with the studio Frederico Valsassina Arquitectos, where she joined teams focused on building rehabilitation. However as a result of nearly a decade of intensive work with some of Portugal’s most prestigious architecture firms, she gained deep experience. Moreover, it strengthened her ability to deliver large-scale projects. Some of these were award-winning, such as the Palácio do Contador-Mor, for which she was responsible.

Academic and Professional Development

In parallel with her studio work, she lectured in the Architecture course for the Civil Engineering degree at Instituto Superior Técnico from 2006 to 2009. Furthermore, she specialized in the Conservation and Recovery of Built Heritage at the same institution. This academic training, therefore, shaped her path as an architect dedicated to historic buildings.

Independent Career and Heritage Projects

Therefore From 2012 onwards, Mariana began working independently with various clients. She developed both new building projects and rehabilitation works, particularly in the Heritage sector. Notably, among her individual projects are the recovery of historic buildings in Lisbon and two new buildings in the historic center of Cascais.

In addition, she led restoration projects for the Robillon Pavilion, the Cafeteria, and the Auditorium of the Palácio Nacional de Queluz. She was also responsible for the intervention at the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, located at the Henrique Calado Riding Arena in Lisbon.

Entrepreneurship and Expansion

Beyond her professional background, Mariana brings a strong market vision and entrepreneurial spirit. These qualities, in turn, have been key to her continued success. In 2012, despite a challenging context, she introduced the Architect Your Home brand to Portugal. Originally from the United Kingdom, the company offers architectural and interior design services.

Then, in 2023, she acquired the parent company in the UK, which had a global turnover of £30M and over 6,500 projects completed over 20 years. Today, she is the owner and CEO of the brand, now headquartered in Portugal with offices in London. Clearly, the results speak for themselves: more than 600 projects completed in Portugal, a team of over 30 architects, and a global turnover of €8M. Renovation with passion and innovate with vision

Personal Inspiration

A passionate surfer, Mariana draws lessons from the sea. Indeed, she believes it is always possible to overcome obstacles when one is committed to doing more and doing better. This philosophy, consequently, guides her daily. She shares her success with her two daughters, Maria and Matilde, and with her life and surf partner, Ricardo.
